Sri Lanka, April 3 -- The Turtle Conservation Project (TCP) says sea mammals such as turtles, dolphins and whales should be protected to promote tourism in the country.

According to TCP, a large number of foreign tourist visit the country every day to watch these ocean mammals.

The TCP says foreign tourists are interested in turtle watching and at least 50 to 70 tourists every day visit the Rekawa and suburban ocean areas in the Southern coastal belt for turtle watching.

TCP records indicate that turtles are commonly seen in the Southern ocean areas of Rekawa, Kosgoda, Bentota, Induruwa, Moragolla, Tangalle and Bundala.
