Sri Lanka, Feb. 11 -- Four Buddhist monks, including Ven. Balangoda Kassapa Thero, along with six other individuals, were granted bail by the Trincomalee High Court today (11).

The ten suspects had been arrested and remanded in connection with the placement of a Buddha statue at the Trincomalee Bodhiraja Viharaya on November 16, 2025, allegedly in violation of coastal conservation laws.

They were previously produced before the Trincomalee Magistrate's Court, which on February 9 had ordered that all ten suspects be remanded until today as investigations into the incident continued.
