Srilanka, June 27 -- A powerset train traveling from Colombo to Rambukkana derailed this morning at the Rambukkana railway station, causing a complete disruption of operations on the Upcountry railway line, according to railway officials.

As a result, rail services have been suspended, and buses have been deployed to transport stranded passengers to their destinations, a railway station spokesperson confirmed.

While efforts to remove the derailed train are currently underway, authorities have stated that the process may take several hours due to the extent of the incident.
