Srilanka, Feb. 18 -- Jaffna Chavakachcheri Assistant Divisional Secretary, Thamilini Satheesan, tragically passed away on February 16 after sustaining severe burns in a fire accident at her home. Doctors at Jaffna Teaching Hospital confirmed that she was six months pregnant at the time, and the fetus did not survive.

According to the Kopai Police, the fire started when she lit a match to ignite a mosquito coil, accidentally setting a nearby kerosene container ablaze. However, her husband, a Grama Niladhari at the Kopai Divisional Secretariat, stated that she caught fire while lighting a candle in a room.
