Sri Lanka, Feb. 26 -- Foreign Minister Ali Sabry, PC said for the first time in history, tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka may surpass 2.5 million in 2024.

He said that considering the tourist arrivals in the months of January and February this year compared to last year, it is clear that the target can be easily achieved.

The Minister was speaking as the chief guest at a celebration to mark the 30th anniversary of the Kandy Muslim Trade Association on Saturday.

Sabry said there were 1.5 million tourist arrivals to the country last year.
