Srilanka, March 5 -- Chief Opposition Whip MP Gayantha Karunathilaka raised concerns yesterday in Parliament on the Government's mentioning of his name in a list of people who had obtained fuel sheds through political connections.

MP Gayantha Karunathilaka said that the fuel station that has been mentioned in the list of politicians owning fuel sheds through political links that had been read in Parliament on Monday (3) by Deputy Minister Arun Hemachandra as illegally obtained by him, had been acquired by his grandfather even before he was born.

He said that this was the first time in his Parliament history that he had to make a personal explanation in Parliament under Standing Orders 27.8.
