Sri Lanka, May 1 -- Three of the five OICs who had been transferred after the May 9, 2022 incidents have agreed to be appointed in the assigned Police stations based on their seniority as per the settlement made before the Court on a previous occasion, it was informed to the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday (29).

This was revealed when the Fundamental Rights petitions filed by five OICs challenging the said transfers were taken up for hearing before Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, PC and Justices Gamini Amarasekara and A.H.M.D. Nawaz.

The IGP on a previous occasion informed the SC that steps have been taken to assign these five OICs to suitable Police stations based on their seniority.
