Sri Lanka, May 14 -- Katunayake Police officers arrested three men who posed as public health inspectors and robbed a woman walking on the wayside after threatening her with arrest for being unclean.

The three men had allegedly forced the woman to get into a trishaw stating she had been arrested for walking on a public road in unclean clothes and had later robbed valuables from her after taking her to another place.

Katunayake Police said that these three suspects who are addicted to drugs are aged 38, 47 and 70.

Police said that the three suspects, who are residents of Maradana, Dematagoda and Borella, are used to robbing people while posing as PHIs using this modus operandi.
