Sri Lanka, Sept. 10 -- Two Javelin throwers Sumedha Ranasinghe, Rumesh Tharanga and 400m women's athlete Nadeesha Ramanayake left yesterday to take part in the World Athletic Championship which scheduled to be held from September 13-21 in Tokyo.

Both javelin throwers Rumesh Tharanga and Sumedha Ranasinghe earned their spots for this major event through direct qualification, with throws of 86.50m and 85.78m, respectively, following strong performances in domestic and regional competitions.
