Sri Lanka, Jan. 31 -- Three individuals were shot and killed in the Panangala area of Hiniduma, Galle, in a fatal shooting incident.

According to police reports, two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle opened fire using a T56 assault rifle. The victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victims had been consuming alcohol at the time of the attack. Among the deceased are two men, aged 29 and 54, while the age of the third victim has yet to be confirmed.

Hiniduma Police have launched an extensive investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects, Police Media Spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Buddhika Manathunga confirmed.
