Sri Lanka, Oct. 31 -- Three associates of Kehelbaddara Padme have been arrested with a stock of heroin worth about Rs. 35 million in the Palliyawatta area of the Wattala Police Division.

The raid was carried out under the government's new program to eradicate the menace of dangerous drugs - the 'Ratam Ekata' (Nation United) national operation.

According to reports, the raid was conducted on Wednesday evening (30). Padme, an organized criminal and drug trafficker, is currently in custody.

The arrested associates, aged 25, 21, and 28, are residents of Palliyawatta, Awarakotuwa, and Galagahaduwa in the Wattala area.

Police said 2 kilograms and 165 grams of heroin were seized from the suspects' possession during the raid.
