Sri Lanka, Dec. 22 -- The Ella Police stated that complaints were received regarding taxi drivers operating services such as PickMe and Uber being threatened and assaulted by local taxi drivers in the area. Following these complaints, the police launched an investigation.

In recent days, a video clip circulating on social media showed two police officers from the Ella Police Station allegedly instructing a taxi driver from outside the area not to provide taxi services in Ella. A complaint regarding this video was lodged at the Ella Police Station on 19 December.
