Srilanka, Feb. 27 -- Economic Development Deputy Minister Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando stressed that individuals engaged in exporting digital services will not be inconvenienced through the imposition of tax up to 15 percent effective from April 1 at a time when others are paying income taxes up to 36 percent.
The Deputy Minister said that those engaged in exporting digital services will not have to pay taxes, if their income does not exceed Rs.150,000 per month.If their income exceeds Rs.150,000, a 6 percent tax is imposed on first Rs.85,000, "Any amount above this will have to pay maximum 15 percent tax only," he said.
