Sri Lanka, Nov. 18 -- A tense situation was reported to the Police over a possible act of sabotage to a Buddha statue that has been placed at a Dhamma School in the Sambudda Jayanthi Temple in Trincomalee, on Sunday (16) night that led to removal of the statue for its safety and that steps have been taken to place it securely at the Dhamma School yesterday morning, Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananda Wijepala said in Parliament yesterday (17).

The Minister, making a statement in the House to clarify the incident, said that following the tense situation, the Buddha statue was immediately removed by the Police in the night for its safety.
