Srilanka, May 22 -- Prime Minister and Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya told Parliament that recruitment for existing teacher vacancies will be carried out by the end of this year.

The Prime Minister said yesterday (21) that there are existing teacher vacancies in the Sinhala medium and Tamil medium from Grades One to Five and from Grades Six to Eleven and informed the House of the number of vacancies that the Government intends to fill through urgent recruitment.
