Srilanka, March 17 -- A programme to educate student monks in the Tamil language and provide them the necessary skills to preach in Tamil was launched at the Vidyalankara Pirivena in Peliyagoda on March 5, by the Dharmavijaya Foundation founded by the late Most Ven. Madihe Pannasiha Mahanayaka Thera.

The resource person for the academic programme is the popular teacher of Tamil language Wajira Prabath Wijesinghe. Around 31 student monks chosen from the Vidyalankara Pirivena will undergo the language training programme for one year. Interested monks from outstation areas have also been provided the opportunity to join it through Zoom.
