Sri Lanka, Jan. 2 -- The Thalpe Railway Station was inaugurated today (02) as the first station to be renovated under the Dream Destination project, implemented as part of the Clean Sri Lanka programme.

The renovation initiative is jointly carried out by the Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation and the Clean Sri Lanka programme, with the aim of modernising 100 railway stations across the country through public-private partnerships supported by the private sector.

The Galle-Thalpe Railway Station was selected as the first station to undergo refurbishment under this national initiative.
