Sri Lanka, July 13 -- Former Prime Minister and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday said the government should talk to the Election Commission without any delay regarding the possible postponement of the General Election as the country is facing a dangerous situation in the wake of the high number of COVID-19 positive cases during the past few days.

Speaking at a UNP election meeting in Kandy, Wickremesinghe said if there is a postponement, the Election Commission should take it without delay to prevent further spending on the polls both by the candidates and election authorities.
