Sri Lanka, Feb. 12 -- The Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced a temporary suspension of all passport issuance services effective immediately, following a major technical failure in its central computer system.
The disruption has affected both the one-day and normal processing services at the "Suhurupaya" head office and regional branches.
A media spokesperson for the department confirmed that technical teams are currently working to rectify the error and restore the database.
