Srilanka, March 6 -- The Supreme Court has scheduled a Fundamental Rights Petition filed by former Minister Rajitha Senaratne for consideration on September 30. The petition seeks a recount of preferential votes obtained by New Democratic Front (NDF) candidates in the Kalutara District during the last general election and requests a fresh result.
A three-judge bench comprising Justices Preethi Padman Surasena, Janak de Silva, and Sampath Abeykoon heard the case today (06) and set the new date for review.
