Srilanka, March 19 -- The Supreme Court today (19) dismissed, without hearing, a Fundamental Rights Petition filed by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa challenging the government's decision to reduce his security detail to 60 officers without a proper assessment.
After reviewing the petition in detail, the court ruled that it would not proceed with the case.
Rajapaksa, through his legal team, had argued that the reduction in his security force was carried out without a proper security evaluation, leaving only 60 officers assigned for his protection.
