Sri Lanka, May 12 -- Peradeniya University's Senior Lecturer and Professor in Economics Wasantha Athukorala expressed concern over the ragging incidents in universities and said if university authorities do not take immediate measures to stop ragging the students in future will be reluctant to enter State universities.
Prof. Athukorala said it is the responsibility of university lecturers, professors, vice chancellors and administrative officers to take measures to stop ragging in universities.
"Although university lecturers, professors, vice chancellors and the administration completely reject ragging in universities, unfortunately some lecturers support it," he said.
