SRILANKA, Dec. 4 -- Last week I wrote an update on Sri Lanka's debt landscape in 2025. I talked about ins and outs of what going on, and why 2028 is an important milestone for Sri Lanka as everyone keep talking about.

2028 and beyond is a pivotal period because, all our debt repayments are scheduled to fall due by that year, and Sri Lanka must ensure that we service them promptly. However, between now and then the country will initiate payments for other commercially borrowed foreign debt known as International Sovereign Bonds, along with restructuring of domestic debt obtainedfrom local companies.
