Sri Lanka, Oct. 1 -- Kataragama Police have seized a large cache of weapons hidden in two fertilizer bags near the sluice gate of the Weheragala Reservoir yesterday (30) evening.
The recovery included 74 T-56 magazines, 36 LMG magazines, T-81 bullets, two ammunition boxes, several decayed bullets, and various weapon parts, according to police.
The discovery was made after the severe drought lowered the water level of the reservoir, exposing the location where the weapons had been concealed. Locals alerted authorities after noticing individuals carrying fertilizer bags containing the cache.
