Sri Lanka, Jan. 19 -- The Special Task Force apprehended seven suspects with 29,000 kilograms of refuse tea at the Kotugoda area in Seeduwa, last evening, said the Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.

The stock of tea had been prepared to be exported to a Middle East country under the label 'Sri Lanka Tea'.

The container truck prepared for the transport of the tea stock was also seized by the STF. The arrested suspects and goods were handed over to the Seeduwa Police.

The suspects will be produced before the court tomorrow.
