Sri Lanka, Jan. 26 -- Police Special Task Force (STF) has seized more than 3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as "Ice," with an estimated street value exceeding Rs. 30 million, during an operation in the Bambalapitiya Police Division.

The operation led to the arrest of a suspect reportedly associated with underworld figures Welioya Priyantha and SF Jagath, who are allegedly involved in organised crime and large-scale drug trafficking and are believed to be hiding overseas.

The suspect was apprehended while travelling on a motorcycle at a temporary roadblock along Ridgeway Place. A follow-up search at a residence in Wellawatte recovered additional narcotics, two electronic weighing scales, and a mobile phone.
