Sri Lanka, Nov. 14 -- SriLankan Airlines' Airport and Ground Services, the sole ground handling provider at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, has introduced self-check-in facilities for passengers of other airlines.
This initiative comes ahead of the busy winter tourist season, during which over 300,000 international visitors are expected to arrive in December alone.
Implemented by SriLankan Airlines' Information Technology Division, 20 new self-check-in machines were installed last month in the departure terminal, bringing the total number of machines at the airport to 28.
First introduced in 2023, these machines have quickly gained popularity, with 15% of SriLankan Airlines passengers opting for self-check-in.
