Srilanka, April 19 -- The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Israel has issued a security advisory to Sri Lankans residing in the country, urging heightened awareness during the Sinhala New Year celebrations.
The advisory comes amid concerns over potential missile attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels targeting Israel. With various New Year events scheduled to take place across the country from April 20 to April 26, the embassy emphasized the importance of remaining alert, particularly as many of the celebration venues are open-air.
In addition, the Israeli authorities have advised Sri Lankans to strictly follow all safety protocols and emergency instructions to ensure their protection during the festive period.
