Sri Lanka, Nov. 25 -- Sri Lanka has recorded export earnings exceeding US$14,400 million during the first 10 months of this year, according to Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) Chairman and CEO Mangala Wijesinghe.
Speaking at a media briefing held at the Government Information Department today (25), he said merchandise exports alone had brought in over US$11,373 million, while the service sector contributed more than US$3,000 million during the same period-marking a 6% growth compared to previous years.
Wijesinghe noted that the country has already achieved 80% of its total export revenue target for 2025. He added that a national export development plan will soon be introduced to diversify markets and enhance competitiveness.
