Srilanka, June 25 -- The Cabinet has approved a major initiative to digitally transform general education in Sri Lanka, supported by US$ 20 million in funding from the People's Republic of China.The agreement to implement this transformative project was reached during President Ranil Wickremesinghe's official visit to China in January this year, where both nations agreed to expedite the program.

Under the project, 500 selected schools across the country will be provided with the necessary digital equipment and at least one model smart classroom per school.
