Srilanka, June 2 -- The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has reported a significant increase in tourist arrivals, with 120,120 visitors arriving in the country in May 2025.

According to the latest data, tourists from India led the numbers, accounting for 42,899 arrivals, representing 35.7% of the total visitors for the month.

Other notable arrivals included 8,382 tourists from the United Kingdom, 7,965 from China, 6,580 from Germany, and 6,470 from Bangladesh.

Cumulatively, tourist arrivals for 2025 have now exceeded one million, reaching 1,017,004 visitors. Of this total, 199,958 tourists came from India, 110,220 from Russia, and 95,435 from the United Kingdom, the SLTDA confirmed.
