Srilanka, May 28 -- Sri Lanka's gem and jewellery industry has experienced a significant downturn over the past two years, according to Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Chathuranga Abeysinghe.He made these remarks at a media briefing held today (28) to announce the Gem City International Gem and Jewellery Exhibition 2025, which will take place in Ratnapura from August 15 to 17.

The exhibition is a collaborative initiative involving the National Gem and Jewellery Authority, the Ministry of Industry and Trade Development, and the Sri Lanka Gem Traders and Miners Association, among other industry stakeholders.
