Sri Lanka, Jan. 9 -- The Sri Lanka national football team is set to play 14 international matches over the next 10 months starting in March 2025, marking the highest number of international games played in a single year in the country's football history.

The schedule includes six matches in the third round of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, two FIFA friendly games, and six matches in the South Asian Football Championship (SAFF). Should Sri Lanka progress to the semi-finals and final of the SAFF Championship, the total number of matches will rise to 16, according to Jaswar Umar, President of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL).
