Srilanka, June 25 -- Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tourism and Foreign Employment, Vijitha Herath, has reaffirmed Sri Lanka's commitment to constructive engagement with the United Nations on human rights issues.

The Minister expressed this assurance during a meeting with the visiting UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, who is in Sri Lanka until 26 June.

During the discussion, Minister Herath outlined the Government's progress on reconciliation and human rights, highlighting the administration's ongoing dialogue with the UN since taking office.

This marks the first official visit by a UN Human Rights Chief to Sri Lanka since 2016.
