Sri Lanka, Aug. 13 -- The Sri Lanka Police have launched a dedicated WhatsApp number for the public to submit issues directly to the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The new number, 071-8598888, becomes operational today (13). Citizens can use it to send text messages, photos, and videos directly to the IGP. However, the number cannot receive phone calls.

Police officers can also use this WhatsApp number to report issues or share important information internally.
