Sri Lanka, July 2 -- The Sri Lanka Navy has arrested seven Indian fishermen along with a fishing vessel for illegally entering and fishing in Sri Lankan territorial waters north of Mannar.Sri Lankan fashion
The North Central Naval Command launched the operation on Sunday night, after detecting multiple Indian fishing boats breaching the maritime boundary. While several vessels were driven away, one Indian fishing boat and its seven crew members were intercepted and taken into custody.
Following their arrest, the vessel and the fishermen were brought to the Talaimannar jetty and later handed over to the Mannar Fisheries Inspectorate for further legal action.
