Sri Lanka, Sept. 15 -- Sri Lanka Rugby has announced a 13-member squad for the Asia Rugby Sevens tournament to be played in China on September 21 and 22.
The team will be led by Kandy Sports Club winger Kavindu Perera, one of the most experienced sevens players in the country. The squad includes Gayan Perera, Janith Marasinghe, Janindu Dilshan, Dinal Ekanayake, Shaahid Zumri, Aaron Corea, Akash Madushanka, Mohamed Rifan, Suranga Tennakoon, Jayathu Rajarathne, Nalan Deshapriya, and Chatura Soysa. Three players have been named as standbys: Vishenka Silva, Yehan Bulathsinghalage, and Kalana Chamuditha.
The team is coached by Shamlie Nawaz, with Rajeew Perera serving as assistant coach and team manager.
