Srilanka, May 24 -- Sri Lanka commemorated International Day for Biological Diversity yesterday at the Dambulla Popham's Arboretum, with a national celebration led by Environment Minister Dr. Dhammika Patebandi.

This year's observance centred on the theme "Sustainable Development with Nature", aligning with the United Nations' global campaign to raise awareness about biodiversity challenges and its importance to humanity's well-being. The event highlighted community participation in eco-tourism, traditional food systems and sustainable development.
