Srilanka, Feb. 21 -- Sri Lanka, a signatory to the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) since 1981, reaffirmed its commitment to women's rights during the 2023 CEDAW session in Geneva.

For the first time, the delegation was led by Hon. Saroja Savithri Paulraj, Minister of Women and Child Affairs, marking a significant step in the country's efforts toward women's empowerment and protection. The delegation participated in the CEDAW session from February 3 to 21, with key representatives from Sri Lanka's Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other relevant bodies.
