Sri Lanka, March 22 -- The Sri Lankan government is set to boost skilled worker migration, ensuring equal employment opportunities across all villages, according to Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau Chairman Kosala Wickramasinghe.
As part of this initiative, the first batch of 50 workers selected for Renovation General Worker (RGW) jobs in Israel's construction sector departed on the 19th.
These workers were chosen through a transparent lottery system after practical tests conducted in November last year.
They will be employed in Israel for a period of five years.
The issuance of passports for this group took place at the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau under the patronage of Chairman Wickramasinghe.
