India, Dec. 1 -- The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) reports that the death toll from the severe disaster situation affecting all 25 districts has risen to 355, while 366 individuals remain missing.
According to the latest update, 1,156,860 people from 318,252 families have been impacted by the widespread adverse weather.
The highest number of fatalities has been recorded in the Kandy District, with 88 deaths confirmed.
This is followed by 75 deaths in Nuwara Eliya, 71 in Badulla, 37 in Kurunegala, and 23 in Matale.
The DMC further reports that 150 persons in Kandy, 62 in Nuwara Eliya, 53 in Badulla, 46 in Kegalle, and 35 in Kurunegala are still unaccounted for as rescue and relief operations continue across the island.
