Srilanka, March 21 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake met with Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM), today (21) at the Presidential Secretariat.
During the meeting, Admiral Paparo extended his best wishes to President Dissanayake and the new government while recognizing Sri Lanka's crucial role in securing the Indian Ocean region and maintaining maritime peace.
Admiral Paparo emphasized the U.S.'s commitment to bolstering bilateral relations and supporting Sri Lanka's government policies.
In turn, President Dissanayake expressed gratitude for the U.S.'s ongoing support in enhancing Sri Lanka's defence sector, particularly in human resources development.
