Sri Lanka, Nov. 18 -- Sri Lanka has signed a bilateral agreement with the Government of Denmark to restructure USD 39 million of outstanding debt, marking a key milestone in the country's External Debt Restructuring Process.
The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development said the agreement underscores the Government's ongoing commitment to restoring debt sustainability, concluding the restructuring process successfully, and revitalising the national economy.
Following bilateral discussions after the Memorandum of Understanding with the Official Creditor Committee (OCC), Denmark has agreed to provide debt relief by rescheduling the outstanding amounts.
