Sri Lanka, Feb. 2 -- The Media Spokesman of the Association of Medical Specialists (AMS), Dr. Ashoka Gunaratne emphasised that the association will not participate in the trade union action scheduled for today (2) by the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA).

He explained that the proposed service constitution for specialist doctors has got the green light from the authorities. Dr. Gunaratne questioned whether the GMOA was against the service constitution of the specialist doctors and added this was also a reason for the specialist doctors not to join the trade union action of the GMOA.
