Srilanka, May 9 -- The Railway Department has announced that several special train services will operate from today (May 9) to accommodate the increased passenger demand during the long weekend and the upcoming State Vesak Festival.

These special services will run on key routes, including Colombo Fort to Badulla and Colombo Fort to Kankesanthurai. The initiative is aimed at easing travel for those attending religious observances and holiday events.

The special train operations will continue until May 13.
