Sri Lanka, Jan. 30 -- Sri Lanka Police have announced a temporary traffic management plan around Independence Square in Colombo to facilitate the 78th National Independence Day celebrations and a series of rehearsal events leading up to the main ceremony.

The national celebration, held this year under the theme "Rebuilding Sri Lanka," is set for 4 February 2026 at Independence Square. In preparation, several rehearsal sessions will be conducted on 30 and 31 January and on 1 and 2 February.
