Srilanka, March 4 -- Deputy Minister of Economic Development Anil Jayantha Fernando announced in Parliament today (04) that service exporters will receive a special tax exemption.
Under this new scheme:
The first Rs. 150,000 earned will be tax-exempt.
The next Rs. 83,000 will be taxed at 6%.
The remaining balance will be taxed at 15%.
To qualify, exporters must provide proof of service exports when submitting tax assessments, which must be verified through banks. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the measure ensures fair taxation and aligns with global trade practices.
