Sri Lanka, Jan. 5 -- Special religious ceremonies have been organised today to mark the 76th birthday of Most Ven. Banagala Upatissa Nayaka Thera, the Chief Sanghanayaka of Japan and President of the Sri Lanka Maha Bodhi Society.Sri Lanka Employment

The Special religious ceremonies include an Agrashravaka Poojopahara at the Maligakanda Agrashravaka Maha Vihara, a Bodhi Puja at the Sapugaskanda Abhayasekararama and special blessings at the Sawara Lanka Ji Vihara in Japan.

Ven. Banagala Upatissa Nayaka Thera serves as the Chief Incumbent of four major religious centers: the Sanchi Chethiyagiri Vihara in India, the Banagala Upatissa Pirivena, the Sapugaskanda Abhayasekararama and the Agrashravaka Maha Bodhi Vihara in Maligakanda.
