Srilanka, May 20 -- The Election Commission has announced that the names of 40 candidates who secured victories at the divisional level in the recent local government elections have yet to be submitted.

Elections Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake emphasized that the names of elected members must be officially published in the Government Gazette before the commencement of their term of office. He urged the respective political parties to promptly provide the names of the winning candidates to avoid administrative delays.
