Srilanka, April 9 -- The National Transport Commission (NTC) has announced the implementation of a special joint transport plan, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Railways Department and the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB), to facilitate travel during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year season from April 9 to 21.

Under this initiative, long-distance bus services will operate along five main routes: Kandy, Puttalam, High-Level/Low-Level, Dambulla, and Galle. In addition to the regular bus schedules, 500 additional bus routes have been arranged to accommodate increased demand.
